Calm on the ward, quick to learn

A clinician shaped by four specialties, busy public hospitals and a lot of time on stage.

I graduated from Rashid Latif Medical College, Lahore (University of Health Sciences) and spent the following year as a full-time residential House Officer at Arif Memorial Teaching Hospital, a 660-bed teaching hospital. I managed patients across outpatient, inpatient and emergency departments, clerking admissions, following up investigations and handing over care within multidisciplinary teams.

Before that, I spent time where the work is hands-on. At Services Institute of Medical Sciences I covered 36-hour surgical emergency on-calls, and at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital I trained in a JCI-accredited radiology department.
